Hi, I’m Tiff.

I’m the founder of Lighten the Load. But before I was a business owner, I was a mom who felt like she was falling apart inside while smiling on the outside.

If you’re reading this, you probably know that feeling. The one where you’re exhausted, irritable, and convinced you’re failing at the most important job of your life—even though you’re doing everything you can.

I get it. Because I lived it.

It Didn’t Start With a Business Plan

My journey into postpartum support started with grief. In 2008, I lost my first baby at 22 weeks. He was born alive but only lasted a short time. That loss scared me. So, when I got pregnant again (an IVF miracle), I over-prepared. I took a 12-week birth class. I planned a home birth. I thought if I just controlled enough variables, I’d be okay.

I was wrong.

My baby flipped breech. The home birth became a C-section. And then, thanks to breastfeeding challenges and sleepless nights, slowly, the baby blues turned into hypervigilance. Then anxiety. Then rage.

I was carrying the entire weight of our household—mentally, physically, and emotionally—alone. I thought I had married a partner, but once the baby arrived, he reverted to a 1950s provider role. He brought home the paycheck; I did the rest. I cringed at spending money on myself. I refused rest. I worked myself to the bone trying to prove I was "worthy" of staying home.

For years, I didn’t understand why I felt so broken.

Then, three years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Suddenly, it made sense. My brain wasn’t defective; it was just wired differently than the system I was trying to fit into. Standard advice like "just make a schedule" or "ask for help" didn’t work for me. I needed systems that accounted for executive dysfunction and sensory overload.

The cost of ignoring those needs as high. My marriage fell apart. I lost my career safety net. And I spent years wondering why mothering felt so hard for me.

I launched Lighten the Load because it’s what I needed back when I was going through it.

I’m not going to judge your messy house or your parenting style. And you’ll never hear me tell you to enjoy every minute.

My mission is to help you make it through early motherhood without becoming untethered.

We need more joy, empathy, and sanity in this world. And that starts with supporting moms through the most awesome and vulnerable season of life.

If you’re tired of treading water, let’s talk. You deserve better.
