Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta Transport Kit
Your transport kit will ship at the beginning of the month before your due date. So if you are due on June 10, your kit will ship at the beginning of May.
When your kit arrives, open it up and make sure everything is inside.
Read the enclosed storage and packing instructions.
Make sure your birth partner is also familiar with the process.
Stick the kit with your birth bag. If you don't have your birth bag ready yet, make sure you put the kit where you'll be able to find it!
Home Births: Follow these instructions, in case a transfer is necessary.
The Big Day
Text Me when your placenta is ready for pick-up — regardless of time of day. If your baby is born overnight, I’ll respond first thing in the morning to arrange for pickup (my phone is on silent overnight). 856-278-1847
Pick-Up is Curbside: I'll need someone to meet me at the entrance to your birthplace. Let me know if this isn't possible for your situation and we'll make arrangements.
On-Call Hours: Pick-ups typically occur between 9 AM - 6 PM. Don’t worry! Your placenta is safe if packaged correctly.
Provider Concerns: Do not let the bagged placenta leave your sight until you speak with me. NO MATTER WHAT.
If You Chose the Budget Package: Bring a lunch-sized cooler and (2) gallon-sized zip-closed bags with you to your birth place.
Follow Packaging Instructions: There is a postcard included with your transport kit that has packing and storage instructions on it. Follow these guidelines carefully.
Keep It Cool: Pack with plenty of ice. Refresh every 4-5 hours. It does not need to be frozen.
Room Temp: It's okay for a couple of hours at room temperature. No need to deal with it during your golden hour.
Hospital Restrictions: If you’re informed that you can’t keep your placenta in your room (this is rare but worth mentioning), simply have someone place it in your car for safekeeping. If it needs to be sent home with someone, please ensure the destination is within my service area or closer than your birthplace. If it’s further away, an additional fee for pickup may apply.
Rare Cases: If your provider wants to test your placenta for any reason (again, rare but worth mentioning), they can take a small sample -- about the size of a thumbnail. The remainder should be safely packaged for me, and we’ll proceed once the results are available.
IMPORTANT:
GBS, Gestational Diabetes, meconium, low grade fever, and C-19: IT IS SAFE TO ENCAPSULATE. If your care provider has concerns, DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE YOUR PLACENTA. Once your placenta leaves your sight, it is not safe to encapsulate. I cannot encapsulate placentas that have been sent to pathology.
Ownership: Your placenta is yours as much as your baby is! Only you have agency over your placenta.
No Refunds: There are no refunds for placenta encapsulation services. Due diligence is a must.
Weekly Office Hours:
Join me Mondays and Wednesdays between 10–11 AM if you need some face time. Click here to access them.
Unlimited On-Call Support:
For your first 6-weeks postpartum, I’m here for you via text, voice notes, or video messaging. I’ll respond between 8AM and 8PM—my goal is always to get back to you within 3 hours max. If it’s after hours, I’ll get back to you the next day.
Storage and Dosage Recommendations
Placenta Capsules
Week 1: Take 2 pills three times per day
Week 2: Take 2 pills two times per day
Week 3: Take 2 pills per day until they’re gone
If you develop a fever or need antibiotics, stop taking your capsules and contact me.
Take your capsules with a full glass of water— staying hydrated can help prevent postpartum headaches. These headaches are often caused by dehydration, which is super common postpartum—especially if you're breastfeeding.
Store out of direct light and heat. I recommend keeping them with your prenatal vitamins so you’ll remember to take them. And if you have trouble remembering, put a reminder in your phone.
Avoid taking your capsules late in the day due to their possible energizing effects. We don’t want anything other than baby keeping you from sleeping.
Avoid using placenta products during a future pregnancy, as they can disrupt your natural hormonal balance. If you have capsules left (within two years) or tincture, you're welcome to use them postpartum after future births.
After six weeks, if you have any capsules left, store them in your freezer to preserve their potency.
Use your capsules within two years. As long as they are stored properly, they will never “go bad,” but like anything herbal, they will decrease in potency over time.
These are recommendations only. You know your body better than I or anyone else ever could. Tune in and pay attention to how you feel. And reach out if anything feels “off”.
Placenta Tincture
Let sit for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Swirl gently every so often while stored and before each use.
When using your tincture, draw from the top to avoid any placenta bits. If that freaks you out, you can strain it with a coffee filter or cheesecloth. Straining is optional—if you don’t, the tincture will get stronger over time. Bonus: if it starts running low, you can top it off with 100-proof vodka to extend its life.
Store out of direct heat and light.
Avoid using your tincture during a future pregnancy, for the same reason as your pills. It can disrupt your natural hormonal balance. You can definitely use your tincture postpartum after future births.
Take 5-10 drops under the tongue 3-4 times per day as needed.
Your tincture never expires if stored properly. Use it anytime you need hormonal or energetic support—when your cycle returns, to ease PMS, during separation from your baby, or in moments of stress, exhaustion, or overwhelm.
Placenta Salve
Apply to sore or healing areas as needed
Wipe off before nursing
Use within 6 months
Store out of direct heat and light.
Possible uses: diaper area, nipples, hemorrhoids, cesarean incision after wound has closed, perineal area if tearing occurred during child birth, eczema, bug bites, minor skin irritations, etc.
No Refund Policy
Due to limited availability, your booking secures a non-refundable spot for placenta encapsulation. It's your responsibility to ensure your placenta is properly stored and available for pickup. Refunds will only be considered for verified medical complications, such as confirmed placental infection (e.g., chorioamnionitis or uterine infection), with clear medical documentation.
Refunds will not be issued for:
Forgetting to inform hospital staff about your placenta retention
Allowing your placenta to be sent to pathology
Improper storage (e.g., leaving at room temperature)
Changing your mind after booking
Group B Strep (GBS), meconium, COVID-19, or suspected infection (without medical confirmation)
Important: Group B Strep and meconium, and COVID-19 are not contraindications for placenta encapsulation, so no refunds will be issued for these circumstances.
Most clients have no issues, so I don’t want you to worry. If you have any questions, I'm here to help!

Starting the week you hire me, I’ll be checking in weekly via text if you don’t reach out first. I’m here for all of it.
2. Weekly Postpartum Check-Ins:
Once baby arrives, postpartum check-ins kick in. I’ll be checking in weekly via text if you don’t reach out first. Whether you need a pep talk, a plan tweak, or just someone to remind you that you’re not alone in this—I've got you.

You can text me or send a video message via the free Marco Polo app anytime, and I’ll respond between 8 AM and 8 PM. I always try to get back to you ASAP, but please allow 3 hours before following up. As a single mom, sometimes I’m knee-deep in kid chaos, handling a placenta, or otherwise tied up, but I’ll always get back to you as soon as I can. If you send your message outside of my on-call hours, I will respond as soon as possible the next day.
Follow-up calls: Your package includes four 30-minute follow-up calls. Click here to book. There is no expiration date on these calls, but I recommend scheduling them about 3 months apart.
Important note: I am not a therapist, nor do I pretend to be one. If you’re experiencing a mental or physical health emergency, please don’t contact me first—call 911 or the PSI Hotline (number below) for immediate support.
